Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Associate Manager / Power BI Delivery Lead to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable BI and analytics solutions using Power BI and the Microsoft data ecosystem. This role combines enterprise BI architecture, technical leadership, team mentorship, stakeholder management, and delivery ownership., This is a Chicago-based hybrid opportunity for a hands-on Power BI Associate Manager / Delivery Lead with deep Microsoft BI, Azure/Fabric, governance, stakeholder leadership, and team management experience., · Lead end-to-end design and implementation of Power BI dashboards, enterprise semantic models, and reporting solutions.

· Architect scalable tabular data models using Azure Analysis Services, Power BI datasets, and Microsoft Fabric semantic models.

· Drive best practices in data modeling, star schema design, DAX optimization, report performance, and scalable BI delivery.

· Oversee complex DAX calculations, time intelligence, business logic, and enterprise reporting standards.

· Work across the Microsoft Azure and Fabric ecosystem, including ADF, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Lakehouse, OneLake, Direct Lake, and Real-Time Analytics.

· Lead integration of Power BI with enterprise applications using Power BI Embedded, REST APIs, and automation workflows.

· Manage and mentor Power BI developers and analysts, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and design oversight.

· Own delivery timelines, sprint planning, effort estimation, documentation standards, and release management.

· Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into analytics solutions and present insights to senior leadership.

· Establish and enforce BI governance frameworks, including data quality, metadata, lineage, access control, security, and compliance.

· Define and implement CI/CD practices, deployment pipelines, version control, and capacity management for Power BI Premium/Fabric environments.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Version control?, · 7-10+ years of BI/Analytics experience with deep hands-on Power BI expertise.

· Advanced Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power BI Premium/Fabric, DAX, Power Query (M), and enterprise semantic model experience.

· Strong SQL, relational database, data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and Lakehouse architecture knowledge.

· Experience with Azure data platform tools, including ADF, Synapse, Data Lake, and Microsoft Fabric.

· Proven experience implementing data security, governance, compliance, access control, RLS/OLS, and quality standards.

· Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and documentation standards.

· Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage delivery, mentor developers, and interface with senior business stakeholders.

· Strong communication, executive presence, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

· End-to-end Microsoft Fabric analytics platform experience.

· Databricks, Spark, or big data ecosystem experience.

· Python or R exposure for advanced analytics or data science use cases.

· Real-time analytics or streaming data experience.

· Microsoft PL-300, DP-203, AI-900, Azure, or related certifications.

Level Expectations

· Own delivery of medium-to-large BI programs.

· Balance hands-on Power BI development with team leadership and delivery management.

· Drive governance, scalability, best practices, and reporting strategy across BI projects.

· Act as the bridge between business stakeholders, data engineering, analytics, and executive leadership.

· Contribute to the BI roadmap and enterprise analytics capability building.

Compensation Range

Consultant / Contract

$85/hr, depending on experience.

FTE W2 Salary

$155,000-$208,000 base salary, depending on leadership scope, technical depth, and interview performance.
