Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle DBA Consultant with 15+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration, architecture, performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, and enterprise database management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical Oracle environments and working within secure/government environments., * Design, implement, administer, and maintain large-scale Oracle databases across development, test, staging, and production environments.

  • Perform Oracle database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, and maintenance.
  • Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and overall health.
  • Perform advanced Oracle Performance Tuning, SQL tuning, indexing, query optimization, and database troubleshooting.
  • Configure and manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and other high-availability technologies.
  • Develop and maintain Backup & Recovery strategies using RMAN and related Oracle technologies.
  • Implement and support Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex database performance, connectivity, replication, and production issues.
  • Perform database migrations, upgrades, consolidations, and environment refreshes.
  • Develop automation scripts using Shell/Unix scripting, SQL, and PL/SQL.
  • Manage database security, user accounts, roles, privileges, auditing, and access controls.
  • Work closely with application, infrastructure, security, development, and DevOps teams to resolve database-related issues.
  • Support database releases, deployments, change management, and production implementations.
  • Establish and maintain database standards, documentation, operational procedures, and technical runbooks.
  • Participate in on-call and production support activities as required.
  • Ensure database environments comply with applicable security, compliance, and government standards.

Requirements

The candidate must possess an Active Security Clearance and be a US Citizen., * 15+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.

  • Strong hands-on expertise with Oracle Database 12c/18c/19c/21c or equivalent enterprise Oracle environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Shell/Bash scripting and database automation.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, storage, memory management, and networking.
  • Experience supporting high-volume, highly available, mission-critical databases.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams., * Experience working in Federal/Government or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience with Active Security Clearance requirements.
  • Experience with cloud database platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or Azure.
  • Experience with Oracle database migrations to cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of GoldenGate, replication, and enterprise data integration technologies.
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and database automation tools.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
