Job description
Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Incident Response and Business Continuity | United States | Remote Pax8 is hiring a Senior Manager Cybersecurity Incident Response and Business Continuity in the United States to lead cyber incident command and business continuity, helping our organization respond, recover, and move forward with confidence.
ď¸ Lead with calm when it matters most
This is a highly visible opportunity to shape how Pax8 navigates cyber incidents and operational disruption. Youâll unite incident command with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, lead a talented team, and turn complex, fast-moving situations into clear decisions for senior leaders. The role offers broader scope than a traditional incident response position. Youâll own two connected disciplines, build trusted relationships across the business, and develop the executive presence that prepares you for future leadership opportunities. As Pax8 evolves its artificial intelligence journey and technology marketplace, youâll grow alongside new tools and emerging ways of working while helping us remain resilient through change., * Lead cyber incident command, bringing the right people together, establishing clarity, and keeping response activity moving during high-pressure events.
- Provide concise, accessible updates to senior leaders, translating technical information into business impact, decisions, and next steps.
- Guide and develop a small team spanning incident coordination and Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.
- Own and mature the organizationâs incident management approach, including clear playbooks, escalation paths, communication rhythms, and decision structures.
- Oversee business continuity planning, business impact assessments, recovery priorities, and readiness across critical operations.
- Design and facilitate tabletop exercises, simulations, and recovery tests that build confidence before disruption occurs.
- Coordinate response activity across Security Operations, Information Technology, Legal, Privacy, Communications, Human Resources, and business leadership.
- Lead thoughtful reviews after incidents, turning lessons learned into practical improvements across people, processes, and technology.
- Provide clear reporting on incidents, program maturity, readiness, and resiliency priorities.
- Support program planning, staffing, external partners, tools, and investments across the resiliency function.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, currently approximately one week in every six, with global coverage helping to manage most activity during United States business hours.
The difference youâll make
Youâll become a trusted source of calm, clarity, and coordination during some of the organizationâs most important moments. In your first months, youâll build an understanding of our environment, contribute actively during incidents, and begin leading the program with confidence. From there, youâll create a roadmap that strengthens readiness, develops the team, and matures how Pax8 prepares for and responds to disruption. Your legacy can be a connected, scalable resiliency function that helps our people make faster decisions, communicate with confidence, and continually improve how we protect the business and our partners., At Pax8, we care deeply about building genuine, trust based relationships - starting with how we hire. To protect our business, our teams, and our customers, we use a range of measures throughout the recruitment process to help confirm authenticity and prevent fraud. These safeguards are designed to be fair, respectful, and proportionate, and may evolve as risks change. By applying, you acknowledge that we take steps to verify identity and representation during hiring. If youâre applying as your authentic self, you have nothing to worry about - weâre excited to meet you. We also use thoughtfully applied AI-enabled tools to support our hiring process. These tools may assist with tasks such as reviewing or prioritising applications, but hiring decisions are made by our people. More information is available in our Recruitment Privacy Notice. If you have questions about how we hire or would prefer not to have your application supported by these tools, you can opt out at any part of our process.
Requirements
- Substantial experience coordinating or commanding cybersecurity incidents, with a clear understanding of how to organize the response rather than personally perform the technical investigation.
- Proven experience delivering structured updates to executives during high-pressure or rapidly changing situations.
- Demonstrated people leadership, including coaching developing talent and creating clarity across direct and shared teams.
- The ability to explain complex security matters simply, accurately, and calmly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Extensive organizational skills, with the judgment to prioritize actions, document decisions, and maintain momentum when information is incomplete.
- Experience strengthening incident response, crisis management, business continuity, or disaster recovery programs.
- Familiarity with recognized incident response and business continuity practices, including the National Institute of Standards and Technology and International Organization for Standardization frameworks.
- Working knowledge of cloud services, Software as a Service environments, common cyber threats, and recovery considerations.
- Confidence collaborating with Legal, Privacy, Communications, Security Operations, and senior business leaders.
- A self-starting approach and willingness to participate actively from day one.
- Comfort using collaboration and incident-recording platforms. Familiarity with Slack, LogicGate, or security monitoring tools is helpful but not essential.
- Experience in a technology or Software as a Service organization is welcome, but strong incident leadership from other industries is equally valued.
