Job description

Responsible for reviewing customer requirements and providing technical support to the project management team. Responsible to closely monitor the optical standards / specifications and provide technical input to the related product development groups. Assist in the review and execution of test plans and test procedures to verify system requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

  • Assist in Implementation planning of network components of subsea cable systems (5%)
  • Knowledge of installation and in-station testing of Terminal Station and Outside Plant Equipment (30%)
  • Assist with Commissioning and Acceptance testing of subsea cable systems (30%)
  • Integrate with marine installation team during cable landings (15%)
  • Assist with the review of technical deliverables as they relate to compliance of specification, laws and regulations (10%)

This list is neither complete nor permanent and may be amended at any time in the Company’s sole discretion., Systems Software Engineering work focuses on developing software for use in operating/controlling computer hardware, which provides a platform for running end user applications. Systems software is written using lower-level programming languages and includes operating systems, device drivers, compilers, utilities, etc.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent Experience: Fiber optic installation, testing, splicing and troubleshooting. Broad knowledge of integration and test requirements, digital communications system operations, applications, product features, functions, specifications, configurations, product life-cycle processes and knowledge of design theory, and architecture. Knowledge of Optical Standards and technologies are essential. Must be able to work in a multi-tasking environment and have good communications skills. Certifications, Licenses, etc.: None required.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills - Language Skills: Fluent in English. Strong writing skills Telecom Experience: 3+ years Reasoning Skills: High Computer and/or Technical Skills: Microsoft platform, Ability to lift 40 lbs, Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. NEC does not offer sponsorship for this role, now or in the future., The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000 to $108,000. Depending upon the selected candidate’s relevant experience, the exact salary for the role may fall outside of this range. This role will also be eligible to participate in the Company’s bonus/incentive program(s).
