Build the foundation that helps teams find, trust, and reuse data with confidence. In this role, you will connect business priorities to clear data definitions, strong modeling standards, and effective sourcing decisions. You will work across domains to reduce duplication, close coverage gaps, and improve how data products support real outcomes. You will influence through partnership-bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to complex decisions., As a Data Domain and Data Product Governance Lead, you will help ensure our data products are consistently defined, well-structured, and aligned to the needs they serve. You will partner with stakeholders across business and technology to drive shared definitions, clear ownership, and reliable lineage. You will identify gaps and overlaps across domains and help teams prioritize what to build, improve, or retire. You will translate complex data concepts into clear choices that enable faster delivery and better decisions.
You will operate at the intersection of data modeling, governance, and product thinking-supporting teams as they define authoritative sources, manage cross-product dependencies, and strengthen consistency across shared concepts. You will facilitate working sessions that resolve definition and sourcing conflicts and create durable standards teams can apply. Your work will help improve reuse, reduce rework, and increase confidence in downstream analytics and reporting.
Job responsibilities
- Audit and govern relationships between data products to ensure entities, attributes, and models are consistently defined across domains
- Map cross-product dependencies and identify architecture gaps, redundancies, and misalignments
- Establish semantic consistency for shared concepts so definitions and lineage remain aligned across domains
- Partner with data engineers and data modelers to reinforce standards for data quality, normalization, and maintainability
- Maintain a comprehensive view of active data domains to ensure balanced coverage and clear representation in the product taxonomy
- Lead domain completeness reviews to identify missing data products and surface gaps to domain owners and leadership
- Define and maintain data product classifications (for example, authoritative versus derived; curated versus raw; operational versus analytical)
- Partner with business stakeholders and data owners to ensure data lands in the right schemas for the right purposes
- Develop and maintain data sourcing strategies, including identifying authoritative sources and resolving source conflicts
- Facilitate data discovery sessions to validate product scope, align definitions, and close sourcing gaps
- Build and maintain a use-case repository tied to strategic priorities to support roadmap planning and prioritization
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in data strategy, data architecture, data governance, or data product management within a complex enterprise environment
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and critique conceptual and logical data models, including entity relationship modeling
- Strong understanding of data governance concepts, including domains, ownership, stewardship, lineage, and controls
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into clear data product requirements and specifications
- Experience working across multiple lines of business and domains in a matrixed environment
- Strong facilitation and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear business language
- Ability to drive cross-functional decisions to closure and maintain alignment across stakeholders
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with data cataloging and data modeling tools
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern data engineering ecosystems
- Experience working with metadata frameworks and operationalizing data standards
- SQL proficiency
