Job description

We are seeking a dynamic Middleware & DevOps Engineer to join our innovative team in the NYC area. This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to drive the development, deployment, and management of enterprise software solutions across cloud and on-premises environments. You will leverage your expertise in containerization, automation, and system administration to enhance system reliability, scalability, and security. Your energetic approach will help streamline our IT infrastructure and support continuous integration and delivery pipelines, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness for mission-critical applications., * Design, implement, and maintain container orchestration systems using Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenStack to support scalable microservices architectures.

  • Automate deployment processes and infrastructure provisioning with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and PowerShell to optimize efficiency and consistency.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure across platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, and SaaS environments by configuring cloud security measures and monitoring tools like New Relic and Splunk.
  • Administer enterprise middleware applications such as WebSphere, Weblogic, Tomcat, JBoss, and Web services to ensure seamless operation of web-based applications.
  • Develop scripting solutions using Bash (Unix shell), Python, Groovy, Ruby, Perl, Go, C#, C++, and T-SQL to troubleshoot issues and automate routine tasks.
  • Oversee system testing, release management, build automation with Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD pipelines while maintaining high availability standards for IT infrastructure.
  • Implement disaster recovery strategies by configuring backup solutions for databases like MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DynamoDB; perform incident response and incident recovery procedures promptly.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in DevOps automation within enterprise software environments involving continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix administration including CentOS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems; familiarity with Windows Server environments is a plus.
  • Hands-on expertise with containerization systems such as Docker and Kubernetes; experience managing virtualization platforms like VMware is highly desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud computing services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) along with cloud security best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex software issues using log analysis tools like Splunk or New Relic; experience with system monitoring tools is essential.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash), configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet), and build automation tools (Gradle, Maven).
  • Experience working within Agile software development frameworks such as Scrum or TFS; ability to gather requirements effectively for IT projects.
