Job description
The ICSR Specialist supports the cybersecurity, reliability, and integrity of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT) environments across pipeline transmission and storage operations. This role is responsible for monitoring compliance with Industrial Control Systems Cyber Risk (ICSR) requirements, conducting assessments and audits, identifying vulnerabilities, supporting risk mitigation efforts, and partnering with operations, engineering, and IT stakeholders to strengthen cybersecurity controls., * Conduct site assessments and compliance reviews to verify adherence to ICSR controls, policies, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Support audits, User-Initiated Assessments (UIAs), self-assessments, and remediation of identified gaps.
- Participate in cybersecurity risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and threat identification activities.
- Monitor and assess compliance of ICS and OT assets, including operating systems, endpoint protection, and antivirus status.
- Review projects and system changes to ensure cybersecurity requirements are incorporated and maintained.
- Assist with the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity controls and solutions.
- Support vulnerability management activities and help reduce cybersecurity risks within ICS environments.
- Participate in cybersecurity incident response, recovery activities, and lessons learned reviews.
- Maintain cybersecurity metrics, dashboards, and reporting for stakeholders.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness and communicate emerging threats, risks, and best practices across the organization.
- Support security controls at network interfaces, ICSR zones, and connections between operational and enterprise networks.
- Collaborate with Operations, Field Engineering, Projects Engineering, ICSR advisors, and IT/OT teams to ensure ongoing compliance and risk reduction.
Requirements
This position is well suited to candidates with backgrounds in cyber security, industrial controls, systems administration, networking, auditing, compliance, operational technology, or process-driven environments. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, collaborative, and capable of quickly learning and applying cybersecurity principles., * Experience supporting compliance programs, audits, assessments, cybersecurity initiatives, industrial controls, operations, engineering, or similar process-driven environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience assessing risks, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to systematically manage multiple priorities.
- Degree, diploma, technical certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls, Industrial Automation, Business, or a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Preferred
- Experience with Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Operational Technology (OT), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, SCADA, or industrial automation environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, vulnerability management, and security controls.
- Experience with network infrastructure, servers, and technologies such as Cisco.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as endpoint protection, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and monitoring solutions.
- Experience using data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Ability to review technical documentation, control logic, network diagrams, and system architectures.
- Understanding of incident response, cyber threat mitigation, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience working within critical infrastructure, energy, pipeline, oil & gas, manufacturing, or similar operational environments is considered an asset.
