Job description
Under the direction of the County Controller/Administrator, the IT Technician will provide front-line technical support to end users on various technical issues and problems relating to computer hardware, software and peripherals. Performs routine maintenance to computer systems, software, peripheral devices, VoIP phones, cell phones and more. The work performed by this job can be routine and repetitive, and while the employee may operate independently, supervision or guidance will be readily available from the contracted IT vendor and/or County Controller. Their work may be reviewed frequently to better streamline decisions, capabilities, and processes.
Requirements
Education: High school graduation or equivalent. An Associates degree is preferred but not required. Prefer advanced coursework in computer science and repair or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Basic introduction knowledge of personal computer and printers, Windows based operating systems, anti-virus, malware applications, commonly used PC software and hardware and diagnostic software for PCs. Basic understanding of how PCs interact with a network and Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Basic understanding of Cloud based systems including but not limited to Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, One Drive etc.).
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must have consistent, reliable, prompt attendance.
- Skilled in interpersonal relationships and customer service, verbal communication, non-verbal communication, listening skills, negotiation, problem-solving, assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands, operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications and working under pressure and managing time.

- Ability to lift and/or carry equipment weighing up to 150+ lbs. as part of a team.
- Ability to travel to various offices throughout the county.

Working Conditions: Works in an office setting.Hours typically are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., an occasional night, weekend or holiday may be necessary if an emergent situation arises.Exposure to hazardous materials or dust.Exposure to high-voltage electrical situations.
Benefits & conditions
Salaried, Full-Time $50,000 - $60,850/Yearly (Salary commensurate with experience)
