Job description

We’re hiring a Solutions Engineer to work closely with our Account Executives and Account Managers to win and expand high-value commercial real estate accounts. This role is involved in the full sales cycle and customer journey, including technical discovery, running engaging and effective demos, generating proposals, crafting RFP responses, and supporting negotiations. You’ll bring an AI-first mindset to streamline and automate processes and workflows related to the role.

You’ll deeply understand Enertiv’s hardware and software capabilities and join sales calls as a reliable and trustworthy resource. When a buyer or technical evaluator wants to get into the details, you’re the person who can go there.

What You’ll OwnTechnical Discovery & Demos

  • Deeply understand each customer’s specific scenario and Enertiv’s software platform to tailor a demo that “solves exactly” - whether related to building management system optimization, tenant utility billing, ESG reporting, equipment-level monitoring, shadow metering, and more.
  • When a buyer says “your product doesn’t do this,” find the way it can deliver on the outcome they’re looking to achieve.

Quoting, Proposal & RFPs

  • Own quoting and proposal generation: define what will actually be implemented, including which modules, hardware quantities, and relevant integrations.
  • Exercise the right instincts on how and when to request deviations from the standard pricing model.
  • Take the lead on RFP responses and other technical documentation when the company decides to respond.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with the operations team, ensuring a tight feedback loop between what is being quoted and what ends up being deployed, to continuously refine the pricing model and limit change orders.

Process Rigor & AI-First Execution

  • Automate everything possible while taking responsibility for ultimate outputs.
  • Maintain clear reporting and CRM hygiene.
  • Communicate sharply, both internally and externally.
  • Forecast accurately and maintain accurate CRM records.

Performance Expectations

Team Quota

  • You will be measured to the extent that Account Executives and Account Managers achieve their combined quotas

Deal Support & Sales Cycle Impact

  • Improve our current conversion rates from sales accepted to sales qualified, and from qualified to closed won by 10% or more
  • Responses to external emails where your response is required within 24 hours

Quoting & Proposal Turnaround

  • Own the quoting automation and proposal generation. 100% of quotes expected to be completed 48 hours before proposal review
  • Turn around RFP responses within the timeline committed to the deal owner, with zero missed submission deadlines
  • Keep change orders resulting from quote-to-deployment mismatches under a defined threshold (e.g., <10% of deployed deals)

Forecasting & CRM Hygiene

  • Maintain 90%+ accuracy (by dollar amount) on quoted scope vs. final deployed scope
  • Keep all quoting, proposal, and RFP activity logged in CRM in real time, with no stale or missing records

Cross-Functional Feedback Loop

  • Meet regularly with Operations to reconcile quoted vs. deployed specs and close gaps
  • Surface pricing model or product-fit issues to leadership proactively

What Success Looks Like

  • Reliable partner of sales, instilling confidence and trustworthiness with prospects
  • Delivery is predictable, disciplined, and transparent.
  • Teams and partners operate with clear ownership and accountability.
  • Leadership has confidence in operational commitments and reporting.
  • The organization relies on systems and standards.

Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in operations, project delivery, or engineering services, ideally within hardware-enabled SaaS, IoT, energy management, or industrial technology environments
