Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred in computer science, technology or a related field with a minimum of two (2) years experience performing network infrastructure installation, maintenance, management and troubleshooting or five (5) years of related experience with datacenters, storage, disaster recovery, VM infrastructure, networking, security, or VOIP experience may be substituted.
  • A minimum of two certifications in Microsoft, Cisco or similar specialized technology certifications are preferred.

  • Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Knowledge of LAN, WAN, and VxLAN network design and installation including monitoring
  • Knowledge and ability to work with TCP/IP networking protocols and the OSI model
  • Knowledge of network hardware and software applications to include network file servers, printers/print servers, DNS, DHCP, and configuring associated networking equipment (L2 & L3 switches, routers, wireless access points, etc.)
  • Familiar with storage, backups, disaster recovery, databases, storage sub-systems, and SAN
  • Familiar with backup tools and solutions (Avamar, VM Restore Points, etc.)
  • Familiar with VMware infrastructure management
  • Ability to work with multiple operating systems (UNIX/LINUX, MS-WIN, MAC-OS, Chrome OS, VMware, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience managing Microsoft Windows server operating systems
  • Knowledge of content-filtering, next generation firewall, and next generation end-point protection
  • Ability to measure, analyze, report and resolve network infrastructure problems
  • Knowledge of VOIP, IoT, and video surveillance systems
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in carrying out duties and responsibilities
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Must possess a valid Texas or New Mexico driver operator's license; insurable by the district's auto liability carrier
  • Must be able to lift, push or pull 50 pounds, * Copy of high school diploma
  • Copy of College/University transcript (s) with applicable degree posted
  • Copy of current driver's license
