Job description

As part of our growth we are looking for a Program Manager AI Transformation. In this role, you will lead the AI-driven transformation of Global Engineering, turning product development complexity into competitive advantage. Responsibilities include translating AI into tangible product development impact across core Competence Centers (such as Mechanical, Blade, Electrical, Control & SCADA Engineering including, Load calculation and Turbine Validation & Documentation), as well as cross-functional Units such as Platform & Portfolio Management, Intellectual Property, Innovation and Technical Lead.

The role is also responsible for ensuring that AI initiatives move beyond isolated pilots into scalable, industrialized solutions embedded in end-to-end engineering processes, aligned with Nordex’s strategic priorities. Amongst others, the following tasks will be performed:

YOUR TASKS:

  • Lead End-to-End Engineering AI Transformation:

  • Drive redesign of key Development processes leveraging AI across: o Competence Centers such as Mechanical, Blade, Electrical, Control & SCADA Engineering including, Load calculation and Turbine Validation & Documentation o Cross-functional Engineering Units such as Platform & Portfolio Management, Intellectual Property, Innovation and Technical Lead Identify and prioritize high-impact use cases

  • Ensure transformation is business-driven and outcome-focused, not technology-led
  • Define governance, decision-making frameworks, and prioritization mechanisms
  • Ensure alignment between Engineering, IT, and external partners
  1. Drive Execution: Lead delivery of AI initiatives from concept pilot

  • Ensure solutions are embedded into real operational workflows
  • Track and deliver measurable impact on: o Product Development times (new product variants, new towers, load assessments) o Quality of digital products such as Turbine & Power Plant Software performance o Requirement analysis time (patents, standards, grid codes) o Planning accuracy of projects o Cost competitiveness
  1. Accelerate Adoption and Change: * Drive large-scale adoption across Global Engineering (Competence Centers, Cross functional Units, all Engineering sites GER, ESP, IND, CHN) * Align senior stakeholders and product development teams around new ways of working * Lead change management * Embed data-driven decision making and AI-enabled processes

  2. Build Capabilities and Organization: * Define required skills, capabilities, and roles for AI-enabled operations * Build and lead a cross-functional transformation team (tbd with AI functional leads in Engineering sub units or AI Engineers) * Develop internal capabilities while leveraging external partners where needed * Contribute to the definition of a long-term workforce transformation plan aligned with AI adoption

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Engineering / R&D environments
  • Experience in complex, global industrial organizations, such as energy, automotive, heavy industry, etc. Experience in wind energy or heavy manufacturing is a strong plus
  • Proven track record in leading large-scale transformation programs and delivering measurable operational and financial impact
  • Strong understanding of AI and GenAI applications in operations, process automation, workflow orchestration, data management, systems integration, and operational IT environments
  • Ability to translate AI capabilities into real business value (not theoretical use cases)
  • Advanced English level is mandatory (C1 level or above). Skills in Spanish and German will be a plus
  • Strong leadership and influence across senior executive stakeholders
  • Ability to operate across corporate, regional, and plant-level organizations
  • Excellent communication skills bridging business and technology
  • High level of execution focus, pragmatism, and resilience
  • Strong change management capabilities in complex environments

For foreign qualifications, recognition as the corresponding Spanish degree equivalency is required when applying.
