Business Intelligence Analyst

Overview We are seeking a hands-on Business Intelligence Analyst with deep experience building Power BI semantic models and reports to transform complex data into clear, trusted insights. This role is highly execution-oriented and requires strong analytical skills, comfort working directly with data, and the ability to translate business questions into well-designed models, measures, and visualizations. The ideal candidate will own Power BI solutions end-to-end-spanning data analysis, semantic modeling, DAX, and report development-while partnering closely with business stakeholders and IT/data teams within a governed analytics environment.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in business intelligence, analytics, or reporting roles with a strong focus on Power BI development
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including:
• Building and maintaining Power BI semantic models
• Developing production-quality reports and dashboards
• Writing and optimizing DAX measures for analytical use cases
• Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to:
• Explore, validate, and interpret data
• Identify trends, anomalies, and root causes
• Translate business questions into analytical logic and metrics
• Solid SQL experience, including writing, modifying, and troubleshooting queries used for reporting and modeling
• Experience designing clean, scalable data models, including star schemas, relationships, and reusable metrics
• Familiarity with governed self-service analytics and Citizen IT models in Power BI (datasets, certified/promoted content, shared measures)
• Strong understanding of business operations, KPIs, and performance metrics, with the ability to challenge assumptions using data
• Experience working cross-functionally with IT, data engineering, and business teams
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical concepts and data findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of BI assets, and drive solutions from concept through delivery
• Comfort leading in-person working sessions and collaborating directly with business leaders
