Job description

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, automating, securing, and supporting cloud infrastructure and platform services that enable enterprise application delivery and operational excellence. The individual supports cloud modernization, DevSecOps automation, infrastructure management, security compliance, and cloud optimization initiatives.

What Your Day Might Include…

  • Design, deploy, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications and data platforms.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code solutions and automate provisioning, configuration management, and operational processes.
  • Support cloud security, identity management, encryption, compliance, and vulnerability management initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting application deployment and infrastructure automation.
  • Monitor cloud resource utilization, performance, availability, and operational health.
  • Support disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and resiliency strategies.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, DevSecOps teams, and security personnel to support cloud-native application delivery.
  • Optimize cloud resource utilization and support cost management initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and implement corrective actions to improve platform reliability.
  • Maintain documentation supporting cloud architectures, standards, procedures, and operational practices

Requirements

  • ship Required to obtain a Public Trust
  • Bachelor Degree
  • Must be local to the DMV area, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and supporting AWS cloud environments utilizing EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, Aurora, RDS, OpenSearch, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Kinesis, and KMS.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Experience utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, and container orchestration technologies.
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps environments utilizing GitHub Enterprise, Harness, Maven, Gradle, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Nexus Repository, NexusIQ, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience implementing security controls utilizing Akamai Web Application Firewall, Vault, PKI, OpenSSL, Prisma Cloud, Tenable, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Experience supporting monitoring and observability platforms including Splunk, New Relic, Kibana, Elasticsearch, Logstash, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience managing Linux environments including Alpine Linux and Ubuntu.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, automation, resiliency, and operational excellence practices
