Job description

The engineer will build, operate and scale Python APIs and backend services that integrate AI capabilities to support internal and external applications., * Design, implement and document FastAPI services and SDKs for AI features

  • Integrate third-party AI providers such as:
  • Google Gemini / Vertex AI
  • AWS Bedrock
  • OpenAI
  • Build secure and observable AI integrations
  • Develop event-driven and synchronous backends
  • Work with REST APIs, webhooks and queues
  • Implement robust error handling
  • Optimize latency, throughput and cost
  • Implement caching, rate limiting, retries and circuit breakers
  • Write high-quality, production-ready code
  • Develop and maintain automated tests
  • Support CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement structured logging, metrics and tracing
  • Own production readiness and runbooks
  • Collaborate with Product, Data and ML teams
  • Translate business requirements into APIs and workflows
  • Follow security, privacy and compliance requirements
  • Handle secrets, OAuth/OIDC and PII appropriately

12+ Years Experience Python FastAPI AWS/Google Cloud Platform AI/LLM Integration Gemini/Vertex AI/Bedrock/OpenAI PostgreSQL Redis Docker CI/CD Terraform Distributed Systems

Senior Python Developer + AI Integration Experience + Strong Cloud + Excellent Communication

Responsibilities:

Technical Requirements

Must Have:

  • 4 8+ years of software engineering experience; strong Python 3.x
  • Strong production experience with FastAPI or Flask
  • Experience building secure, versioned APIs
  • Cloud experience with Google Cloud Platform or AWS
  • Google Cloud Platform: Cloud Run, GKE, Pub/Sub
  • AWS: Lambda, EKS, API Gateway, SQS
  • Databases:
  • PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Redis / ElastiCache / Memorystore
  • Database migrations and schema design
  • CI/CD experience
  • GitHub Actions
  • Cloud Build
  • Docker/containerization
  • Infrastructure as Code; Terraform is helpful
  • Unit, integration and/or contract testing
  • OpenAPI/API specifications
  • Observability
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems
  • Resiliency patterns and performance tuning, * Experience integrating AI services:
  • Vertex AI / Gemini
  • AWS Bedrock
  • OpenAI
  • Prompt/response handling
  • Intermediate data engineering experience with Python and SQL
  • OAuth/OIDC
  • JWT
  • Service-to-service authentication
  • KMS / Secrets Manager
  • Basic data pipeline knowledge
  • Batch-to-feature/API pipelines
  • Schema evolution practices
  • React experience is a strong plus and could make the candidate a full-stack fit
