Job description

The Senior Development Release Enginee r is responsible for planning, coordinating, governing, and executing software releases across multiple applications and teams. This role ensures releases are delivered on time, meet quality standards, comply with organizational processes, and minimize business disruption. The Release Manager serves as the central point of coordination between Product, Engineering, QA, Infrastructure, DevOps, Operations, and Business stakeholders., Release Planning & Governance

  • Define release scope, schedules, and release calendars.
  • Coordinate dependencies across teams and applications.
  • Facilitate release planning and readiness reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with release management standards and governance processes.
  • Manage change approvals and release documentation.

Release Execution

  • Coordinate build, packaging, and deployment activities.
  • Conduct Go/No-Go meetings and facilitate deployment execution.
  • Validate deployment readiness, rollback plans, and production support coverage.
  • Monitor production deployments and escalate issues as needed.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Communicate release schedules, risks, status, and outcomes.
  • Provide executive updates before, during, and after deployments.
  • Coordinate communications with business and technical stakeholders.

Quality & Risk Management

  • Verify QA and UAT signoffs.
  • Ensure release readiness criteria are met.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate release risks and issues.
  • Coordinate incident management and rollback activities when required.

Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Track release KPIs and deployment success metrics.
  • Conduct post implementation reviews and lessons learned sessions.
  • Identify opportunities for release automation and process improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvements to increase release predictability and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Release Management, Program Management, DevOps, or Software Delivery.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, Change Management, and ITIL practices.
  • Experience managing enterprise-level software releases across multiple teams.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and risk management skills.
  • Experience with Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, GitHub, CI/CD platforms, and release automation tools., * ITIL Certification.
  • PMP, SAFe, Scrum Master, or Agile certification.
  • Experience leading complex enterprise application releases.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and automated deployment pipelines.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
