Job description
- The Test Engineer is responsible for the hardware modification process, ensuring correct instrumentation methodology is followed by Technicians and suppliers.\n
- Assisting in the development and documentation of Hardware Modifications.\n
- Operation of all instrumentation and data systems required to conduct gas turbine engineering development tests. This requires the knowledge and applicable experience with instrumentation used in the measurement of temperature, pressure, dynamic pressure, strain, Rotor Dynamics, aeromechanics, and other related parameters associated with gas turbine development tests.\n
- Responsible for execution of laboratory and field validation testing, inspection and data acquisition for use in the design and validation of products and services. This includes documenting test hardware and parameters per established quality procedures.\n
- Responsible for design and construction of test facilities, test rigs, instrumentation systems, and the development of test software.\n
- Continued broadening of technical knowledge and skills to execute policy/strategy. To include support roles with a specialized technical field.\n
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; using this understanding to accomplish validation goals. Good understanding of how our work integrates with other teams and contributes to overall product validation.\n
- May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.\n
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. Ability to explain technical information to team and customers. There may be opportunities to interact with the customer so developing strong customer relationships and serving as the interface between customer and GE Vernova.\n
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering\n
- Strong oral and written communication skills.\n
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.\n
- Setup and operation of Dynamic Data Acquisition Systems at Customer sites.\n
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.\n
- Established project management skills\n
- Project leadership skills specifically around Hardware schedules and ability to work in team environment\n
- Product knowledge of GE gas turbine, generators, Steam Turbines, and Aeroderivative units\n
