  • Drive adoption of modern data engineering technologies, including cloud-native services, automation, orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

  • Partner with business leaders, application teams, Business Analytics, HR, and Enterprise Technology to translate business requirements into data solutions.

  • Ensure data platforms meet performance, reliability, security, compliance, and availability requirements.

  • Oversee vendor relationships, technology evaluations, and implementation of new tools and platforms supporting the enterprise data ecosystem.

  • Promote Agile delivery practices, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and continuous improvement throughout the data engineering lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure secure data handling, privacy, and regulatory compliance.

  • Champion innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and recommending improvements to enhance organizational data capabilities.

  • Present architectural strategies, modernization progress, risks, and investment recommendations to executive leadership.

Leadership:

  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and career development opportunities for team members.

  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability for project delivery and operational excellence.

  • Build strong partnerships across Finance, HR, Enterprise Technology, business units, and executive stakeholders to align technology investments with organizational priorities.

  • Contribute to organizational change management efforts associated with modernization initiatives and technology transformation.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, and PySpark, Apache Spark, and relational database management systems.

  • Experience with data modeling, metadata management, data governance, and data quality best practices.

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and automated testing.

  • Demonstrated experience in software reuse principles supporting delivery efficiency and security.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving business stakeholders, application development teams, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and analytics organizations.

  • Experience managing technology vendors, evaluating enterprise software solutions, and supporting technology investment decisions.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex enterprise environment.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with demonstrated experience communicating technical strategies and recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Ability to recruit, mentor, develop, and lead high-performing technical teams while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearance, if applicable.

  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site.
