Job description
Seeking experienced Software Test Engineers (Level 2) to support full-lifecycle software testing, automated test framework development, and system integration for mission-critical systems in Columbia, MD. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test plans, automated test suites, and dedicated test environments. You will execute integration, acceptance, performance, and security testing across Linux and Windows operating environments, validate complex data and user interfaces, and collaborate closely with development teams to identify, track, and resolve software problem reports., Design, build, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, automated test suites, and testing workflows. Provision, configure, and maintain dedicated test environments and automated software testing infrastructure. Perform Integration & Testing (I&T) and Acceptance Testing activities to ensure adherence to functional and design requirements. Develop automated test scripts and capabilities using Python. Execute performance, load, stress, interface, and security testing, leveraging code coverage tools to ensure software quality. Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Linux (UNIX) and Windows operating systems, test applications, and connected network devices. Document detailed test results, log software discrepancy reports, and track issue remediations through full verification. Support hardware problem dispatch and troubleshooting workflows within test lab environments.
Requirements
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with a current Polygraph., Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution plus at least 6 years of Software Test Engineering experience on programs of similar scope and complexity, OR Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus at least 4 years of Software Test Engineering experience (Master’s degree substituting for 2 years of experience), OR 10 years of relevant Software Test Engineering experience without a degree (4 additional years substituting for the degree). Test Domains: Demonstrated experience in at least four (4) of the following areas: Test automation development (e.g., Python test scripting) Performance, load, and stress testing Data interface testing User interface (UI) testing Security testing Code coverage tools and analysis Systems integration testing Operating Systems & Environment: Hands-on experience installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting software on Linux and Windows platforms.
