Job description
The Information Technology & Warehouse Operations Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting the company’s technology infrastructure while actively contributing to daily warehouse and customer service operations. This role requires a hands-on professional who is comfortable troubleshooting computer systems, networks, software, and business applications, while also assisting with inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and customer transactions. The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, and willing to support the business wherever needed.
Essential Information Technology Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Maintain Windows workstations, servers, and business software.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, passwords, and email systems.
- Support warehouse technologies including barcode scanners, label printers, POS systems, and inventory management software.
- Monitor and maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure.
- Perform system updates, backups, security monitoring, and antivirus management.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and connectivity issues.
- Assist with ERP, warehouse management, and point-of-sale system support.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for hardware, software, telecommunications, and managed IT services.
- Document IT procedures, system configurations, and technical issues.
- Recommend technology improvements that increase efficiency, security, and productivity.
- Provide technical support and training to employees.
Warehouse & Operations Responsibilities
- Stock shelves and replenish inventory to maintain adequate product availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management when replenishment or purchasing is needed.
- Receive, inspect, unload, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and condition.
- Safely load and unload products using warehouse equipment when required and properly authorized.
- Prepare, pick, pack, and stage customer orders for pickup or delivery.
- Assist with shipping activities including packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Keep warehouse, storage areas, workstations, and receiving areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow company safety procedures and maintain an orderly work environment.
Customer Service Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale system and process cash, credit card, and accounts receivable (A/R) transactions accurately.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and order pickups.
- Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
- Help resolve customer issues and escalate concerns when appropriate.
General Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with warehouse, sales, accounting, and management teams.
- Prioritize work effectively between technical support and operational responsibilities.
- Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall business operations.
Requirements
Required
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of IT support experience.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Experience troubleshooting computer hardware, networking, printers, and business applications.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
- Experience supporting ERP, warehouse management, or inventory systems.
- Experience with SQL databases and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of networking, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
- Familiarity with barcode scanners, label printers, and point-of-sale systems.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification (if applicable).
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in warehouse environments.
- Occasionally move and install computer equipment and networking hardware.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely when trained and authorized.
Work Environment
This position combines office, warehouse, and customer service responsibilities. The employee will routinely transition between technical support tasks, warehouse operations, and customer-facing activities throughout the workday. Flexibility, adaptability, and a team-oriented attitude are essential for success in this role.
