Job description
As our Telecommunication Technician, you’ll be the trusted expert ensuring that every radio, repeater, and communication system we deploy works flawlessly. Your work will directly support emergency services, public safety agencies, and mission-critical industries-helping them stay connected in the moments that matter most.
What You’ll Do
- Install, program, and configure two-way radios, repeaters, and related communication equipment for clients in the field and in-house.
- Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues, from antenna alignment to firmware updates.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and performance testing to ensure systems meet FCC and manufacturer specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to design and implement custom communication solutions.
- Maintain accurate service records, inventory logs, and compliance documentation.
- Provide on-site technical support during system rollouts, upgrades, or emergency repairs.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with two-way radio systems (Motorola, Kenwood, Harris, or similar).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with RF systems, antennas, and signal propagation.
- Familiarity with FCC regulations and licensing requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Comfort working in both shop and field environments, sometimes in challenging conditions.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel statewide for service calls.
- Bonus: Experience with digital trunking systems (P25, DMR) or networking for radio systems.
