Job description

We are seeking a Design & Release Engineer to support the design, development, validation, and release of vehicle exterior components, with a primary focus on vehicle badges, emblems, nameplates, and related trim components., * Design and develop automotive exterior components, including vehicle badges, emblems, nameplates, logos, and related trim components.

  • Create and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using Siemens NX.
  • Lead the design and release of components from concept through production.
  • Collaborate with styling, manufacturing, quality, supplier, and vehicle engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, BOMs, and change documentation.
  • Review component designs for dimensional accuracy, fit, function, appearance, and manufacturability.
  • Support Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) activities and identify potential design issues early in the development process.
  • Work with suppliers to review designs, resolve technical issues, and ensure components meet engineering requirements.
  • Support prototype builds, validation activities, and production launch.
  • Participate in design reviews and cross-functional engineering meetings.
  • Manage engineering changes and support the release of design changes through the appropriate engineering systems.
  • Analyze and resolve fit, finish, dimensional, and assembly-related issues during vehicle development and launch.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, vehicle requirements, and program timing.
  • Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for design-related issues identified during testing, prototype builds, or production.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have more than 4 years of automotive engineering experience, including at least 1 year of hands-on experience designing or developing automotive badges, emblems, nameplates, or similar exterior components. Strong proficiency in Siemens NX and experience working within automotive product development processes are required., * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

  • More than 4 years of professional automotive engineering experience in vehicle component design and development.
  • At least 1 year of direct experience with automotive badges, emblems, vehicle logos, or similar exterior trim components.
  • Strong proficiency in Siemens NX for 3D modeling and engineering design.
  • Experience with automotive product development and Design & Release processes.
  • Experience creating and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, dimensional requirements, and tolerance stack-up.
  • Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes commonly used for exterior trim and badge/emblem components.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional automotive engineering environment.
