Job description
Creates visual concepts and working prototypes of full websites, applications, and/or individual website components, and evaluates the best fit for users, with an eye to maximizing user experience. Contributes to the design groups efforts to enhance the appeal of the organization’s online presence as well as improving the user experience.
Develops and programs front-end web solutions per UF Health web standards. Implement sites in a production environment. Involved in the full front-end life cycle of website creation; coding, testing, quality assurance, implementation/deployment, testing and deployment.
Develops technical, functional and visual design specifications from users’ requirements and business needs. Researches the web design field for new technologies that improve site usability, productivity in developing web and/or maintaining websites. Regularly reviews high-quality websites of other organizations and critically evaluates UF Health standards against them. Regularly reviews websites of UF Health peers and competitors, and critically evaluates UF Health standards against them. Maintains knowledge of current web-based technologies. Regularly reviews important site use metrics and produces meaningful reports that speak to a business problem or opportunity. Assists with analyzing current processes and procedures to create future configurations that lead to gains in efficiency and cost savings.
Works closely with customer support staff to review requests submitted by customers, and to debug and provide solutions for issues related to the design of the website. Other duties as required EXPECTED SALARY: $82,000 - $87,000
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and five years of appropriate experience; or an associate’s degree and seven years of appropriate experience, Six years’ experience developing and successfully launching websites, web user interfaces, front-end web application interfaces and conceptual designs. Preferred technologies and platforms include CSS, JS, PHP, WordPress and Craft CMS
