Job description

If you’re passionate about embedded software development, automated testing, and solving complex technical challenges, this is your opportunity to work on cutting-edge space payload technologies. You’ll join a collaborative engineering team responsible for developing and testing software that supports advanced space systems and mission-critical applications., As an Embedded Software Engineer, you’ll help design, develop, integrate, and test software used to control test equipment and verify the performance of advanced space payload systems. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring critical systems meet stringent performance and reliability requirements.

Working in an Agile environment, you’ll collaborate with talented engineers to create innovative solutions while supporting all phases of the software development lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, integrate, and maintain embedded test and integration software.
  • Develop software using Python and other programming languages to support testing and verification activities.
  • Create automated solutions that improve system validation and testing efficiency.
  • Execute software integration and testing activities to verify system requirements.
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and identify root causes.
  • Debug new and existing software applications.
  • Support all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, integration, and testing.
  • Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, design reviews, and technical reviews.
  • Conduct peer reviews of software designs, code, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, and hardware engineering teams to ensure successful system integration.
  • Utilize automation and test tools to support continuous integration and verification efforts.
  • Make technical recommendations and support project priorities in a dynamic engineering environment., Your contributions will help ensure the reliability and performance of critical technologies supporting important missions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or another STEM discipline.
  • 8+ years of software development experience, or:
  • 6+ years with a Master’s degree, or
  • 3+ years with a PhD.
  • Experience developing software in Python.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience integrating software applications and analyzing logs to verify performance and identify issues.
  • Experience developing in Linux and/or Windows environments.
  • Experience testing software systems and resolving defects.
  • Experience using software configuration management tools.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility., * Experience working within Agile Scrum teams.
  • Experience with C++ development.
  • Experience developing with TCL/TK.
  • Hands-on experience controlling test equipment through software, including:
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Signal Generators
  • Signal Analyzers
  • Power Supplies
  • Experience integrating RF, digital, or optical systems.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Jenkins and Robot Framework.
  • Experience optimizing embedded Python applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex integrated systems and test environments.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools, including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
