Job description

Cawley & Bergmann is looking for an Entry-Level Data Analyst to join our Newark, NJ team., * Prepare and maintain operational reports

  • Work with Excel spreadsheets and large datasets

  • Analyze operational and portfolio performance

  • Monitor trends and key performance metrics

  • Assist with reports, dashboards, and scorecards

  • Manage data imports, exports, and files

  • Validate and reconcile data for accuracy

  • Identify and troubleshoot data discrepancies

  • Work with databases and internal information systems

  • Support recurring and ad hoc reporting requests

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting and processes

  • Work closely with operations and management

Requirements

This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional who enjoys working with data, spreadsheets, reports, databases, and technology.

Professional data analyst experience is not required. We’re looking for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, technically inclined, and eager to learn.

Previous experience in collections, financial services, data analytics, reporting, or a related field is preferred, but not required., * Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field preferred

  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills

  • Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and reports

  • Basic understanding of databases and information systems

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to learn new systems and technology

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn

Technical Skills

Experience, coursework, or familiarity with any of the following is a plus:

  • Microsoft Excel

  • SQL

  • Power BI

  • Databases

  • Data imports and exports

  • Data validation

  • Reporting and data visualization

  • ETL concepts

You do not need to be an expert in all of these areas. We’re looking for someone with a strong technical foundation and an interest in developing their skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience, internships, coursework, or exposure in the following areas is helpful, but not required:

  • Consumer collections

  • Accounts receivable management

  • Financial services

  • Data analytics

  • Business intelligence

  • Reporting

  • Information systems

  • Database management

  • Call center operations

Collections industry experience is preferred, but not required.
