Job description

The Analyst/Sr Analyst, Network Planning Models and Systems is part of the Network Planning team. It partners closely with cross-functional leaders across Network Planning, Revenue Management, Alliances, IT, and Operations Research to influence high-impact decisions while building and evolving advanced modeling and analytical capabilities that drive enterprise-wide outcomes. The role also leverages modern data tools and frameworks to translate complex analytics into actionable insights, offering strong exposure to network strategy, forecasting, and optimization at scale.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee the development and evolution of network planning tools and systems by partnering with Network Planning and IT to define priorities and translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Collaborate with Operations Research teams to guide the design, enhancement, and application of forecasting, simulation, and optimization models
  • Partner with stakeholders across Network Planning, Alliances, Revenue Management, and other business areas to evaluate scenarios, quantify tradeoffs, and inform network and scheduling decisions
  • Perform deep-dive data analyses to validate model outputs, assess performance, and investigate key business questions
  • Design, develop, and maintain analytical solutions including data pipelines, automation workflows, and user-facing tools
  • Leverage SQL, Python, and modern data platforms to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy of network planning processes
  • Ensure reliability and integrity of data and model outputs through testing, validation, and continuous improvement
  • Communicate analytical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in analytics, modeling, data science, or related field
  • Experience working with data analysis and programming tools such as SQL and Python
  • Experience performing quantitative analysis, building models, or supporting business decision-making

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a quantitative field
  • Experience in airline industry, network planning, scheduling, or revenue management
  • Familiarity with forecasting, simulation, or optimization models and their business applications
  • Experience working with Operations Research teams or advanced analytics groups
  • Experience developing data pipelines, automation workflows, or analytical tools
  • Knowledge of modern data platforms, cloud environments, or big data frameworks

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and solution development
  • Strong data visualization and storytelling skills (e.g., Tableau, Power BI or similar)
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and optimization techniques
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to partner with cross-functional teams and translate business requirements into analytical solutions
