Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will serve as a critical Windows/VMware and Linux/Red Hat systems administrator for a classified government contract, ensuring secure and reliable multi-user systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet requirements, implement enhancements, and maintain security posture under strict guidelines. The position operates onsite in Rancho Bernardo, CA with travel to Sigonella, Italy, and requires an active Top Secret clearance. You will shape IT infrastructure for complex, mission-focused environments with a strong emphasis on security and compliance. Compensation / Benefits * Administer Windows Server OS and VMware in a classified environment * Administer Linux/RedHat systems for a classified environment * Coordinate with network, software, and system engineers and stakeholders to ensure system performance * Analyze requirements and define hardware/software solutions via automation * Review and implement system enhancements including patching, monitoring, and configuration management * Provide backup/recovery, manage file systems and antivirus protection * Manage user accounts, file permissions, and security access * Test new releases for compatibility and minimal user impact * Develop and document technical processes and procedures * Engage with vendors to evaluate products and services * Maintain IS security guidelines and security audit/logging per ISSM * Prepare security documentation for input to Computer Security * Report project status for recurring and non-recurring efforts * Work independently with minimal direction Tasks * Bachelor’s degree or higher with 6 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 4 years, or Associate with 8 years, or High School diploma with 10 years in lieu of degree; or relevant certifications with 8 years in lieu of degree * Current Security+ CE or ability to obtain within 6 months * Experience managing Windows Server OS and domain architecture * Ability to support multiple networks and lead others as needed * Ability to lift up to 40 pounds * Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed * Active US Government Top Secret Clearance (with recent background investigation) Key requirements * health insurance * life and disability insurance * savings plan * Company paid holidays * paid time off (PTO) * bonus opportunities
