Advanced Database Administrator

• Perform daily operational database administration activities in a production enterprise environment.
• Plan, design, implement, and support database structures (schemas, tables, indexes, storage, etc.) to meet system requirements and standards.
• Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning, including troubleshooting and remediation of production issues.
• Assist in the design, development, optimization, and amendment of database schemas and related structures.
• Develop and maintain DBA procedures and technical documentation.
• Perform SQL code reviews and help enforce database standards and best practices.
• Support database work for application enhancements and rewrites, partnering with project and data stakeholders.
• Provide training/mentoring to other technical staff as needed.
• Contribute to an overall data architecture approach that supports organizational needs and security standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• 5+ years of combined experience in database administration across required platforms.
• Strong experience with:
• Microsoft SQL Server (2012 and above) (expert level)
• Oracle (10g and above)
• GIS/spatial databases, including knowledge of ESRI SDE geodatabases
• Demonstrated ability to independently analyze, evaluate, and resolve complex enterprise production database issues.
• Strong understanding of relational database principles, design, and operational best practices.
• Experience preparing complex database specifications and designing relational databases.
• Ability to interpret and communicate technical information clearly both verbally and in writing. __________________
