Job description

  • Design, deploy, and manage Linux server environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement system architecture aligned with enterprise solutions.
  • Automate deployment processes using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Shell Scripting, integrating with version control systems like Git.
  • Conduct system troubleshooting and resolve technical issues related to operating systems, hardware, network configurations, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Implement system hardening, vulnerability assessments, and security measures including firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, and cloud security protocols (AWS, Azure).
  • Manage configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) for consistent system setups across multiple servers.
  • Support system integration efforts involving database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle), web services (RESTful API, SOAP), and application development environments.
  • Monitor system performance metrics and utilize tools such as Nagios or Zabbix to ensure stability and uptime.
  • Participate in SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) processes for software implementation projects involving Linux-based solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with Linux operating systems including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, or Ubuntu Server.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture principles including load balancing, virtualization (ESXi, VMware), and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell), Python, JavaScript for automation and system management tasks.
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure components including DNS, DHCP, GPOs (Group Policy Objects), VPNs, firewalls, and network security protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure for scalable infrastructure deployment.
  • Familiarity with database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server; experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
  • Ability to perform vulnerability management through threat intelligence analysis and system hardening practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on technical troubleshooting support across diverse environments.
  • Understanding of software development best practices including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of enterprise application integration involving Salesforce or Pegasystems is advantageous.
