Job description

cFocus Software seeks a Configuration Manager to join our program supporting the United States Air Force. This position is onsite with the onsite location being in Ellsworth, South Dakota. This position requires a TS/SCI SSBI clearance., * Establish, maintain, and enforce the configuration management plan, procedures, standards, roles, approval authorities, and lifecycle controls for FMWF and associated environments.

  • Identify configuration items and define authoritative technical baselines for software, infrastructure, databases, middleware, security components, documentation, development/test assets, and deployed capabilities.
  • Maintain configuration identification, version control, status accounting, change history, relationships, ownership, and traceability for configuration items and baselines.
  • Coordinate engineering change requests from initiation through impact analysis, technical review, authorization, implementation, verification, closure, and baseline incorporation.
  • Facilitate configuration control boards and other change-governance forums; prepare agendas, decision packages, technical evidence, minutes, action items, and approval records.
  • Plan and support configuration reviews, readiness reviews, production-readiness assessments, and other systems engineering technical reviews.
  • Ensure proposed changes include technical, cybersecurity, operational, schedule, interface, testing, rollback, data, and mission-impact analysis before approval.
  • Coordinate changes across application, WebSphere middleware, DB2 database, Windows/Linux, Active Directory, Nutanix virtualization, CyberArk, development/test, and cybersecurity stakeholders.
  • Control enterprise patch and security-directive changes, including IAVAs, TCNOs, NOTAMs, updates, enhancements, and corrective engineering modifications.
  • Ensure patches, updates, enhancements, and system modifications are validated in controlled development/test environments before production release.
  • Implement configuration management controls for development assets, test data, builds, releases, deployment packages, scripts, documentation, and environment settings.
  • Verify production readiness, approved implementation, rollback capability, required evidence, and post-deployment performance following configuration changes.
  • Validate that configuration baseline integrity is preserved after modifications and that unauthorized or undocumented changes are identified and corrected.
  • Govern technical documentation, naming conventions, versioning, approvals, retention, distribution, and records traceability.
  • Maintain configuration status metrics, change backlogs, aging, implementation success, exceptions, audit findings, baseline discrepancies, and QASP-aligned performance data.
  • Support technical audits, cybersecurity assessments, RMF authorization evidence, vulnerability remediation, incident reviews, COOP, disaster recovery, and emergency changes.
  • Provide configuration management guidance, training, and quality reviews to engineers, administrators, developers, cybersecurity personnel, and program staff.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI SSBI clearance
  • B.S. Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 6+ years of Configuration Management experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing configuration control for complex, mission-critical federal, DoD, or enterprise information systems.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration identification, baseline management, change control, status accounting, verification/audit, release control, and document governance.
  • Experience leading configuration control boards, engineering change reviews, configuration reviews, readiness reviews, and production-release gates.
  • Ability to evaluate technical, operational, cybersecurity, interface, data, schedule, test, and rollback impacts of proposed changes.
  • Experience controlling configurations across software, Windows/Linux infrastructure, virtualization, databases, middleware, identity services, cybersecurity tooling, and development/test environments.
  • Experience coordinating patch, vulnerability, security-directive, upgrade, enhancement, and emergency-change activities within prescribed timelines.
  • Ability to maintain authoritative repositories, configuration item relationships, baselines, version histories, approval records, and audit-ready evidence.
  • Working knowledge of RMF, Assessment and Authorization, security-control evidence, vulnerability remediation, and DoD/Air Force cybersecurity compliance.
  • Strong process leadership, facilitation, technical writing, quality control, analysis, metrics, stakeholder coordination, and communication skills.
