Junior DevOps Engineer

Sphinx is hiring a Junior DevOps Engineer to join our team building a cutting edge communications platform for US government satellites. We’re looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to help take our build and deployment automation to the next level. As a Junior DevOps Engineer you will help build the development and deployment infrastructure used by our Space Communications team, which provides infrastructure for a wide variety of US Government satellites.

WHAT YOU’LL BE FOCUSING ON

• Supporting AWS-hosted and on-premises Kubernetes environments.
• Helping maintain reliable, secure, and highly available platform infrastructure.
• Maintaining and improving GitLab CI/CD pipelines to support software delivery.
• Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Assisting with Kubernetes application deployments using Helm.
• Troubleshooting infrastructure, platform, and application issues across AWS and Kubernetes environments.
• Partnering with software engineers to improve deployment automation and developer workflows.
• Continuously improving platform observability, automation, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Supporting software deployments into classified environments., This role is a hybrid role based in Colorado Springs, CO that offers flexibility while supporting collaboration on classified work. This role will require onsite work as needed to support secure program requirements.

• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with Python or Go through professional work, internships, coursework, or personal projects.
• Exposure to Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, or other cloud-native technologies.
• Experience using Git for source control.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and adapt quickly.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government TS/SCI clearance
