Job description
We are specifically hiring coaches who can commit to our summer camp schedule: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, throughout the summer months. Strong summer weekday daytime availability is the top priority for this hiring round. Coaches who can also continue with us during the school year will have additional hours available in our after-school programs (3-8 PM weekdays or 10 AM - 3 PM Saturdays).
This flexible part-time position offers 6-25 hours/week, with summer camps as the anchor of your schedule and school-year hours tailored to your continued availability.
Coaching Pathways: As a Code Coach, you’ll mentor young learners through one of our teaching modalities, based on your expertise, interests, and schedule:

Summer Camps (Primary Need) * Lead full-day camps from 9 AM - 3 PM, Monday through Friday * Deliver themed weekly programs in Minecraft, Roblox, Python, AI, game design, robotics, and more * Manage a group of campers with energy, structure, and creativity * Ages 6+ across our four Atlanta metro locations (East Cobb, Johns Creek, Suwanee, Dunwoody)

Code Coaching - Personalized Learning Experience * One-on-one or one-on-two immersive coding sessions * Guide beginners through visual programming in Scratch or Snap * Mentor advanced students in Python, JavaScript, or specialized languages like Java, C++ * Co-design projects that align with students’ interests while following our proven curriculum frameworks

Code Class - Structured Learning Experience * Facilitate curriculum-driven classes with higher student-to-coach ratios * Deliver engaging content in an interactive group setting * Guide students through sequential skill-building activities and projects

FIRST LEGO League Programs * Lead students in FIRST LEGO League Challenge and Explore programs * Guide teams through robotics design, programming, and competition preparation * Foster collaborative problem-solving, critical thinking, and STEM fundamentals * Help students develop both technical skills and core values of innovation and teamwork

Requirements
- SUMMER WEEKDAY AVAILABILITY (9 AM - 3 PM, Monday through Friday) - Non-negotiable for this hiring round
- PASSION - Genuine enthusiasm for technology education and youth development
- Communication Excellence - Ability to explain complex concepts simply and connect with both students and parents
- Technical Background - Computer Science, Engineering, or related field experience (for college students) or relevant industry experience (for professionals)
- Coding Versatility - Strong foundation in programming fundamentals with practical skills in languages like Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Java, or C++
- Group Leadership - Comfort managing and engaging groups of kids across a full camp day
- Growth Mindset - Willingness to learn alongside students and model lifelong learning
