Job description

The Manager, Client Data Management leads a team responsible for generating, managing, and delivering clinical trial data for Adaptive’s Biopharma customers. This role ensures the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of study data and supports customer-specific data requirements across Adaptive’s MRD portfolio.

The Manager serves as a key partner to internal stakeholders and external customers, overseeing data transfer agreement (DTA) implementation, data quality, reporting processes, and data management workflows. This role also drives operational excellence through process improvement, automation, analytics, and development of scalable solutions that support business growth and customer satisfaction.

  • Oversee the generation, review, and delivery of high-quality clinical trial data and reports in accordance with customer specifications and established timelines.
  • Lead the negotiation, implementation, and maintenance of DTAs for assigned customers and studies.
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for complex data inquiries, reconciliation activities, and customer-specific reporting requirements.

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and cross-functional partners to support successful study execution and customer satisfaction.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in client data architecture and lifecycle management needs
  • Identify and implement solutions that improve consistency, scalability, and efficiency of data delivery processes.

Data Systems & Operational Management

  • Oversee the development, validation, and maintenance of tools, scripts, and automated processes used to generate customer deliverables.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, version control, and compliance practices are maintained across data management systems and processes by maintaining version control and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data/sample management and monitor compliance with data security protocols.
  • Monitor team processes, drive continuous improvements through data-driven insights, and develop solutions to support customer-specific data requirements.

People Leadership

  • Establish team priorities, performance expectations, and development plans aligned with departmental objectives.
  • Develop team capabilities through coaching, training, and ongoing performance management.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • Drive team performance against operational goals.

All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelors + 8 years of related experience, or
  • Masters + 6 years of related experience
  • Experience supporting clinical trial data management, data reporting, or related functions within a regulated environment.

Required Competencies

  • Proficiency in database software and the ability to write queries using languages like SQL.
  • Experience with various data tools and programming languages such as Java, Python, or R as well as software tools (such as excel, bash and git).
  • Some previous supervisory experience required. Ability to effectively lead, develop, and motivate others by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, coaching for performance and growth, and fostering an inclusive, accountable team environment.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of molecular biology, biostatistics, or related scientific disciplines.
  • Experience in biopharma, diagnostics, genomics, or clinical research organizations.
