Lead Software Engineer / AWS Cloud Architect

We’re seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer / AWS Cloud Architect to design, build, and deploy secure, scalable cloud solutions supporting critical aerospace and defense programs.

This is an onsite role in Melbourne, Florida, requiring an active TS/SCI security clearance. You’ll work directly with customers, architect enterprise AWS environments, and lead cloud modernization initiatives supporting mission-critical systems.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and develop secure cloud-native applications on AWS
• Design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure
• Partner directly with government and technical stakeholders to gather requirements
• Produce architecture documentation, implementation roadmaps, and technical designs
• Lead cloud solution planning and technical decision-making
• Present architectural recommendations to technical and executive audiences
• Support multiple mission environments while ensuring security and compliance
• Drive cloud deployment automation and infrastructure improvements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of software engineering or cloud architecture experience (with graduate degree)
• 9+ years of software engineering or cloud architecture experience (with undergraduate degree)
• 13+ years of software engineering or cloud architecture experience (with no formal education)
• Active TS/SCI Clearance
• Extensive AWS cloud development experience
• Experience designing enterprise cloud architectures
• Ability to work onsite in Melbourne, FL
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following are highly desired:

• AWS EC2 deployment automation
• Infrastructure as Code
• GitLab CI/CD Pipelines
• High-side AWS / C2S environments
• CAP (C2S Access Portal)
• IATT / ATO accreditation process
• Security+ (DoD IAT Level II) certification
• DevSecOps
• Cloud migration

Education:

• Bachelor’s (Preferred)

Experience:

• software engineering: 9 years (Preferred)
• AWS cloud architecture: 1 year (Preferred)
