The IPG Systems Technician will assemble, test, and install laser-based systems according to engineering instructions and technical manuals. • Assemble and wire machine control panels, electronic sub-assemblies, cables, machines, push button stations, motion controllers, e-stops and test gear.
• Build systems and sub systems
• Use of hand tools and power tools as required

• BS in electronics or electro-optics preferred
• Basic understanding of UL 508A and NFPA 79 standards and how to find information in the standards
• Mechanical aptitude and finesse is required, in the context of precision mechanical assembly for dynamic systems and optics.
• Previous electrical assembly experience or an electrical background is desired.
• Prior experience wiring industrial control panels is strongly preferred
• Perform electrical tests to ensure proper wiring techniques.
• Attention to detail and world-class workmanship is required.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and schematics.
• Data entry skills preferred.
• Strong communication skills required for interaction within R&D group
