Job description
We are hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead the operational management, expansion, and reliability of our enterprise data center and cloud infrastructure in St. Louis. In this role, you will manage physical servers, VMware virtualization clusters, SAN storage systems, and cloud environments across AWS and Azure. You will focus on maintaining high system uptime, automating manual infrastructure deployment tasks, and leading technical recovery efforts during major outages., * Manage and maintain VMware vSphere (ESXi and vCenter) virtualization environments across primary and secondary data center locations.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, server builds, and configuration management using Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell scripts.
- Administer enterprise block and file storage arrays (SAN/NAS, iSCSI, NFS), managing volume provisioning, storage tiering, and capacity planning.
- Oversee cloud compute instances and storage buckets within AWS and Azure, ensuring configuration consistency and security policy alignment.
- Maintain backup schedules, snapshot routines, and disaster recovery replication targets using Veeam and Zerto.
- Perform routine operating system patching, kernel upgrades, and security vulnerability remediation across Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments.
- Monitor system health metrics, CPU/memory utilization, and disk I/O using Datadog, CloudWatch, and SolarWinds to prevent service performance degradation.
- Serve as the senior technical point of contact for complex hardware failures, operating system crashes, and storage network disruptions.
Requirements
- 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering, systems administration, and data center operations.
- Advanced technical proficiency with VMware vSphere 7.0+, vCenter Server, and hyperconverged infrastructure platforms.
- Proven experience writing production-grade Terraform manifests or Ansible playbooks for automated server deployments.
- Strong working knowledge of core network infrastructure, including VLAN tagging, subnets, link aggregation (LACP), and load balancers.
- Experience managing enterprise storage hardware, SAN fabric switches, and disaster recovery orchestration workflows.
- Strong background in Active Directory administration, Group Policy Objects (GPO), DNS, and RBAC security models.
- Relevant industry certification is preferred (VMware VCP-DCV, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator).
- Must have permanent legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
