Job description

The IGRC Trustee Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Illinois Great Rivers Conference (IGRC) Trustees in their responsibility of managing, stewarding, and safeguarding properties owned by the Illinois Great Rivers Conference of The United Methodist Church. This position serves as a key liaison among conference leadership, district superintendents, legal counsel, and local churches, ensuring that property-related processes are conducted efficiently, transparently, and in alignment with the Book of Discipline, IGRC standards and mission., * Coordinate and support the planning, negotiation, and facilitation of property sales and purchases involving IGRC-owned assets, ensuring compliance with IGRC procedures.

  • Collaborate closely with the IGRC Trustees, Assistant to the Bishop, IGRC Chancellor, and Director of Finance & Administration on all property matters.
  • Maintaining closed properties, including overseeing utilities, insurance, maintenance, lawn and snow, etc.
  • Manage the property transition and sale for churches closed, or to be closed, by Annual Conference action.
  • Ensure all property-related actions comply with IGRC policies, administrative protocols, the IGRC Personnel Policy Handbook, and the Book of Discipline.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication among conference offices, district leadership, clergy, trustees, and local church officers.
  • Provide administrative support to the IGRC Trustees as needed.

Requirements

  • Commitment to the mission, values, and ministry of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference of The United Methodist Church.
  • Active Real Estate License or relevant experience in property transactions.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including conference staff, district superintendents, clergy, trustees and local church leaders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment., * Must be able to sit, talk, and hear regularly; occasional standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching required.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Visual requirements include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
