Engineer, AI Applications Development

Technology Services team is integral to maintaining the Firm’s overall technology, mobile and desktop devices, and core infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure and efficient operations. Technology Services is a single global operation with representation in each of the Firm’s offices. Additionally, we have shared service centers in Tampa and Manila, supporting a wide range of technologies and operations. As part of our Technology Applications Development team, you will play an important role in developing, integrating, supporting, and maintaining applications using Microsoft’s AI ecosystem, including Azure AI Services, Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and custom-developed solutions within the Microsoft 365 environment. You will work with technologies such as Python, TypeScript, React, Node.js, and REST APIs to build and support AI-enabled business solutions that improve efficiency and deliver value across the Firm.

Working closely with Senior AI Engineers, the Innovation Team, data scientists, and business stakeholders, you will help design, develop, test, and optimize integrations with AI services, large language models (LLMs), and enterprise systems. You will contribute to prompt engineering, API integration, solution testing, performance optimization, and operational support activities while gaining hands-on experience with emerging AI technologies and development practices.

You will participate in a variety of projects, applying technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities to develop practical and scalable solutions. You will assist in identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement, contribute to application enhancements, and support the delivery of projects within an agile development environment.

Duties and Accountabilities1

• Develop, maintain, and support AI-powered applications and integrations using Microsoft AI technologies and cloud services.
• Build, test, and maintain connections to AI platforms and APIs, including Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, Microsoft Graph, and other approved enterprise AI services.
• Assist in the development of AI-enabled business solutions that automate processes and improve user productivity.
• Collaborate with Senior AI Engineers to design, implement, and optimize prompt workflows, retrieval processes, and AI service integrations.
• Develop and maintain Python and TypeScript code used for AI integrations, backend services, automation workflows, and application enhancements.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of applications built within Azure AI Foundry and other approved AI platforms.
• Monitor AI application performance, troubleshoot integration issues, and recommend improvements to reliability, speed, and cost efficiency.
• Assist in testing AI solutions, validating outputs, and identifying opportunities to improve response quality and consistency.
• Participate in prompt engineering activities, including prompt development, evaluation, tuning, and optimization.
• Support the configuration and integration of vector stores, search services, document repositories, and retrieval systems used by AI applications.
• Develop and maintain REST API integrations that connect internal applications with AI services and cloud platforms.
• Assist with monitoring token consumption, API utilization, latency, throughput, and other AI operational metrics.
• Contribute to software development lifecycle activities including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, integration guides, deployment procedures, and support materials.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards, security practices, and development methodologies.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, source control management, and DevOps processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues, investigate root causes, and implement fixes under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Stay current with advancements in AI technologies, Microsoft AI services, large language models, and automation tools.
• Work closely with developers, business stakeholders, analysts, and innovation teams to support AI initiatives across the firm.
• Serve as a backup resource for Senior AI Engineers, supporting ongoing development efforts and operational responsibilities.

• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• 1 - 3 years of experience in software development or relevant internships/co-op experience.
• Experience developing applications using Python orTypeScript.
• Exposure to AI technologies, machine learning concepts, or generative AI platforms.
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs and working with cloud-based services.

Require Skills

• Working knowledge of Python development.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Understanding of API integration concepts, authentication, and JSON-based services.
• Familiarity with Git-based source control and collaborative development practices.
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
• Experience troubleshooting application and integration issues.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services and modern web technologies.

Preferred

• Exposure to Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Foundry, Cognitive Services, or Microsoft AI technologies.
• Understanding of prompt engineering and LLM concepts.
• Experience with React development.
• Knowledge of vector databases, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, or semantic search concepts.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience working with Microsoft Graph API.
• Experience with Power Platform technologies.
