Job description
DUTIES: Provide specialized technical expertise in performance monitoring and control-system data
integration for power generation assets using EtaPRO and SCADA environments, leveraging industrial
communications standards (OPC, DNP3, Modbus) to support reliability and operational analytics. Apply
transformer diagnostics expertise by interpreting dissolved gas analysis (DGA) results and integrating DGA
insights into EtaPRO for continuous asset health monitoring and early anomaly identification. Perform
advanced diagnostics and condition assessment using EtaPRO performance indicators, alerting logic, and
industry standards (e.g., IEEE C57.104) to support predictive maintenance and reduce corrective
maintenance risk. Support regulatory and internal performance reporting by validating operational and
asset data quality, reconciling plant KPIs, and enabling analytics consumption through approved enterprise
reporting platforms (e.g., SAS, if applicable). Collaborate with I&C, electrical, and cybersecurity
stakeholders to ensure secure, standardized industrial communications (OPC, DNP3, Modbus), maintain
data interface integrity, and support high availability of monitoring/SCADA connectivity. Provide EtaPRO
subject-matter expertise by standardizing configurations, authoring technical guidelines, and training
engineering/O&M users to ensure consistent monitoring practices across facilities. Support delivery of
operational insights through analytics visualization (e.g., Qlik Sense) by defining KPI requirements,
validating data sources, and presenting asset performance trends for engineering and O&M decision-
making. Troubleshoot complex performance monitoring and SCADA data issues (signal quality,
communications, historian alignment) and provide technical recommendations that improve plant
operability, reliability, and data-driven maintenance decisions.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering and 5 years of experience supporting power plant operations through power system analysis, EtaPRO-based performance monitoring, SCADA data validation, and operational performance analytics for generation assets.
The position requires 5 years of experience in:
- Experience using EtaPRO for power plant performance monitoring, diagnostics, and asset performance analysis in operational generation environments.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols, including OPC, DNP3, and Modbus, within power generation and operational technology (OT) environments.
- Experience supporting power plant operational performance and maintenance decision-making through analysis of real-time and historical operational data.
The position requires 4 years of experience in:
- Cybersecurity principles and best practices applicable to industrial control systems and operational
technology (OT) environments in power generation facilities.
- Experience supporting regulatory and internal performance reporting for power generation assets,
including data validation, KPI reconciliation, and compliance-oriented analytics.
- Experience working with SCADA systems and control-system operational data to support power plant monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation.
