Job description

Leading in a high-growth environment means setting direction in motion, not waiting for perfect conditions. As a Technical Program Manager II, you will drive high-impact, complex technical initiatives that support critical platform foundations-from data systems to the foundational infrastructure that powers global operations. This is a role for a strategic operator who can turn technical complexity into operational reality, whether managing global capacity for a high-volume platform or leading the adoption of new technologies.

You will navigate a fast-moving, high-stakes environment where you will need to make decisions with imperfect information and stay resilient through the challenges of scaling systems. You will lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Product, and Data Science to solve problems that do not come with a playbook. If you lead with clarity, thrive in technical challenges, and are motivated to build solutions that impact the real world-this is where you will make your mark.

Rate of Pay: $153,000 to $187,000 per Year

You will be eligible to participate in Uber’s bonus program, and may be offered other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits. More details can be found at the following link https://www.uber.com/careers/benefits.

What you’ll do

  • Work with engineering and product to conceptualize strategic initiatives and solutions and develop those into detailed program/project plans.
  • Project manage technical, complex, large scale, cross-team, cross-functional initiatives from planning to execution.
  • Accelerate execution velocity of programs and drive accountability by tracking progress, resolving dependencies, identifying issues, mitigating risks, and communicating status to key program stakeholders.
  • Understand technical implementation at the architecture level and propose technical alternatives when necessary.
  • Develop broad domain and technical knowledge.
  • Engage, energize, and lead teams as an owner for high-impact initiatives.
  • May telecommute.

Requirements

  • Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Engineering (Any), Mathematics, or related field, and three years of experience in the job offered or in a technical program or engineering management-related occupation.
  • Position requires three years in:
  • Jira;
  • Google G-Suite (Sheets, Slide, and Docs);
  • Agile and Waterfall methodologies;
  • Program managed software development lifecycle;
  • Risk management and mitigations;
  • Building platform architectures;
  • Scaled dependency tracking/process;
  • SQL and data analysis.

Ready to Ride?

This isn’t the kind of place where you follow a playbook - it’s where you help write one. If you’re driven by impact, energized by challenge, and ready to shape how the world moves - we’d love to hear from you.
