Job description

We are seeking an experienced Android Software Engineer to join a collaborative team responsible for developing and enhancing customer-facing retail mobile applications. In this role, you will work alongside cross-functional teams of frontend and backend engineers to design, build, and maintain scalable Android solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences.

You will contribute to complex technical initiatives, solve challenging engineering problems, and help drive the development of modern Android applications using Kotlin and contemporary mobile architecture patterns. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Android applications using Kotlin.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver scalable mobile solutions.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
  • Develop responsive, performant, and secure mobile application features.
  • Implement modern Android development practices, including reactive programming and asynchronous workflows.
  • Review code, mentor team members, and promote engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the application stack.
  • Contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure applications meet organizational standards for security, compliance, and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of software engineering or software development experience.
  • 4+ years of professional Android application development experience in a corporate, enterprise, or team-based environment.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience developing applications with Kotlin.
  • Experience building and shipping Android applications available through app stores or enterprise distribution platforms.
  • Experience with:
  • Kotlin
  • Android SDK
  • Jetpack Architecture Components
  • Retrofit
  • Dependency Injection frameworks (Dagger/Hilt)
  • Kotlin Coroutines
  • Reactive Programming principles
  • RESTful APIs, * Experience developing large-scale consumer-facing mobile applications.
  • Experience within the financial services, fintech, or banking industry.
  • Knowledge of mobile application security best practices.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguous technical challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
