Seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for the inpatient Hematology/Oncology team at Rainbow Babies and Children’s hospital. The APP will provide onsite care of admitted patients under supervision of attending pediatric hematology/oncology physician (offsite), admitting patients, order entry, and documentation. The schedule is Nights (5:30p-6:30a) and weekends(6:30a-5:30p). APP and pediatric hematology/oncology experience preferred but not required. Pediatric NP or Family NP required., The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing quality care for patients and increasing patient access and satisfaction. Standard tasks to be performed by an Advanced Practice Provider as specified by the Ohio State Board of Medicine or Nursing and UH entity specific Medical Bylaws.

- Performs patient assessment and assigns diagnosis based on recorded assessment data and current scientific and current research
- Establishes plan of care and implements interventions in accordance with care paths, protocols, and standards of care and current research
- Collaborates w/other health care providers in an interdisciplinary approach to provide care to the patient and family
- Contributes to the educational development of staff, patients, family and self
- Demonstrates progressive leadership and effective management
- Provides education through role modeling and in-services to meet identified learning needs and to promote professionalism
- Advances own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education and participation in peer review
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Requirements
- Master’s Degree from an accredited PA educational program (Required)
- (MSN) Master’s Degree in Nursing (Required), * 1+ years as a Physician Assistant (Preferred)
- 1+ years as a Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)
Skills, & Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership skills. (Required proficiency)
- Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships. (Required proficiency)
- Computer skills to access patient medical data from UHHS mainframe. (Required proficiency)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook. (Required proficiency), * Physician Assistant (PA) (Required) and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) and
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
- Passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (Required) and
- Practice with a supervising physician (Required Upon Hire) and
- Maintain national PA Certification (Required)
Nurse Practitioner:
- Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required) and
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of Ohio (Required) and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) and
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred)
- Current APRN License (Required)
