IT support technician

90-day contract opportunity in Logansport focused on hardware asset management and e-recycling. This is an entry-level to junior-level position and will be 100% onsite. Potential for the role to expand beyond the initial engagement. Key Responsibilities Process and track approximately 600 devices. Remove memory and hard drives from equipment. Sort hardware into appropriate recycling/disposal containers. Document and inventory devices, especially assets containing PHI. Maintain accurate records in ServiceNow and Excel., Recruiting Strategy: I’d target local candidates within 30 miles of Logansport, including IT students, entry level candidates, desktop support technicians, field technicians, and warehouse/inventory professionals with strong computer hardware exposure. Based on Jason’s feedback, reliability and attention to detail are likely more important than deep technical expertise.

Basic Excel skills. Experience using or willingness to learn ServiceNow. Hardware handling experience (PCs, laptops, IT equipment). Strong attention to detail and inventory tracking abilities. Based on responsibilities outlined in the request. Ability to perform hands-on physical work throughout the day. Ideal Candidate Profile: Entry-level IT support technician. Hardware deployment, desktop support, or asset management background. Understanding of data security best practices related to device decommissioning and disposal. Experience scanning, tagging, labeling, and tracking assets in inventory management systems. Ability to lift and move IT equipment (up to 40-50 lbs.) and stand/walk for extended periods. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to maintain accuracy while handling high volumes of assets. Familiarity with asset lifecycle management concepts. Experience working in regulated environments (healthcare, financial services, government, etc.) is a plus. Basic knowledge of PC hardware components, including hard drives, SSDs, memory modules, desktops, laptops, monitors, and peripherals., Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
