Assistant Director of Information Technology -Hudson County Prosecutor's Office

The Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor is seeking an experienced Information Technology (IT) professional to serve as the Assistant Director of our IT Unit. An excellent IT Assistant Director is very knowledgeable in IT and computer systems. They have a solid technical background while able to manage and motivate people., * Assisting the Director in the development, management, evaluation and overseeing all technology operations (Hardware, Software, Storage and Network);

• Assisting the Director in developing and ensuring the Office’s strategic capacity plan;
• Assisting the Director in developing and proposing IT policies and systems;
• Assisting the Director in analyzing the technology requirements of the organization to determine their technology needs;
• Assisting the Director in managing the IT Unit -including training and supervision of its employees as well as recruitment of new personnel;
• Assisting the Director in managing the IT Unit’s outside vendors;
• Assisting the Director in identifying and eliminating security vulnerabilities and increasing data security;
• Assisting the Director in coordinating IT activities to ensure data availability and network services with as little downtime as necessary;
• Assisting the Director in ensuring the smooth delivery and operations of IT services by monitoring system performance;
• Assisting the Director in developing, managing and tracking the IT Departments budget and forecasting future budgetary needs;
• Assisting the Director in implementing Executive policies;
• Reporting to the Director and Executive Staff as needed and requested; and
• Other Duties as assigned.

• Strong understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunication systems;
• Strong leadership,management and decision-making skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Strong technical knowledge and the ability to communicate that knowledge to both technically minded and non-technically minded colleagues;
• An understanding of the non-technical aspects of the Prosecutor’s Office is preferred;
• Financial skills for budgeting and forecasting the IT Department’s needs;
• A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Programming, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field is required. A Master of Science in Information Technology or related field is preferred;
• A minimum of 5 years of experience managing employees in an IT environment and overseeing large technology projects;
• Valid New Jersey State Driver’s License;
• New Jersey residency required within 1 year of employment; and
• Must pass a background and medical exam., * Do you have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Programming, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field?
