Job description

Job Summary: The Systems Administrator works directly with external customers to resolve technical issues within live production environments. This role provides remote support for customer systems, including hardware, software, operating systems, databases, and related infrastructure. Responsibilities include troubleshooting system issues, analyzing technical problems, performing routine maintenance, and supporting system performance and availability. The Systems Administrator will also work with internal teams when needed to resolve issues, identify improvements, and ensure concerns are addressed while delivering an excellent customer experience.

Reporting Relationship: Manager, Systems Administration

Shift: Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm CST. This position requires participation in an on-call rotation outside of regular business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. This role is primarily performed remotely, though Kansas City Metro employees may have on-campus requirements according to departmental policy and business need. Generally, all positions may be fully performed on-campus in Mission, KS. Regular, punctual, and predictable attendance is an essential function of every job at ScriptPro.

Scope of the Role:

  • Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair ScriptPro customer infrastructure, including servers, hardware, peripherals, applications, operating systems, and system configurations
  • Support and maintain complex production systems, procedures, and database performance while conducting technical analysis and system tuning as needed
  • Perform remote software configurations, upgrades, maintenance, and triage activities while troubleshooting complex issues across physical and virtual server environments
  • Manage overall server and system health through proactive monitoring, preventative maintenance recommendations, system tuning, and hardware replacement recommendations
  • Execute and support backup, restore, failover, and disaster recovery procedures, including simulations and testing necessary to support customer business continuity
  • Provide Windows Server and Windows Update Services support and assist with the deployment of approved software and custom packages
  • Collaborate with Systems Administration leadership, Field Operations, Engineering, Customer Support, and other internal teams to drive continuous improvement in product quality, system reliability, customer satisfaction, and service metrics
  • Accurately document troubleshooting, technical findings, customer communications, resolutions, and other job functions within Siebel or other designated service-management systems
  • Conduct or participate in customer meetings as needed to review service performance, technical concerns, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution
  • Participate in the on-call support rotation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, computer science, or a related technical field preferred
  • 2+ years of related experience in technical support, systems administration, or a similar IT environment
  • Experience using SQL query tools to troubleshoot database issues and working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration
  • Strong working knowledge of current Windows desktop and Windows Server operating systems, including client-server troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, Windows services, system configuration, and general systems administration concepts
  • Experience using modern remote-support and remote-desktop technologies
  • Familiarity with ticketing or service-management applications and working within SLA-driven support environments
  • Ability to support proprietary software applications and troubleshoot interactions between applications, operating systems, hardware, and databases
  • General knowledge of IT industry best practices, system administration, cybersecurity, and related technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and maintain strong attention to detail with limited direct supervision
  • Strong technical aptitude, analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with clear and effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple issues with varying priorities while consistently meeting individual and team goals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), or equivalent IT certifications
  • Experience supporting physical and virtual Windows Server environments
  • Experience with backup, restoration, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
  • Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and/or medical insurance billing
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly outpatient pharmacy operations
  • Multilingual skills in Spanish, Arabic, or French

Remote Work Requirements:

  • Must have high-speed reliable internet access with a hard-wired connection
  • Must have a distraction free home office workspace
  • Must be willing to participate in video virtual meetings (camera on), Requires routine use of standard equipment and extended computer use. Employee must be able to sit, use hands and fingers, and occasionally lift, squat, stoop, bend, and reach. Problem-solving, practical learning, and instruction interpretation skills are essential.
