Job description

  • Lead the architecture, development, and evolution of advanced flight control and actuation systems.
  • Build strong relationships with commercial and defense aerospace customers while understanding evolving mission requirements.
  • Translate customer needs into scalable, high-reliability technical solutions.
  • Develop long-term technology and product roadmaps aligned with emerging aerospace trends.
  • Drive innovation by identifying and maturing new technologies for future product development.
  • Lead technical proposal development and support strategic business growth initiatives.
  • Evaluate competitive technologies, identify capability gaps, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams including systems, software, hardware, and firmware engineering.
  • Mentor engineers and support talent development through knowledge sharing and technical coaching.
  • Collaborate with engineering, program management, and executive leadership to balance priorities across multiple programs.
  • Support system integration, verification, validation, and certification activities throughout the full product lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 12+ years of experience designing, integrating, and architecting military and/or commercial flight control systems, including actuation systems.
  • Extensive experience with hardware, software, and firmware integration.
  • Strong background in systems architecture and strategic technology planning.
  • Experience leading full lifecycle aerospace system development from requirements through verification and validation.
  • Knowledge of system safety analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and safety-critical system design.
  • Experience developing execution plans, budgets, engineering processes, and technical roadmaps.
  • Familiarity with aerospace development standards including:
  • ARP4754
  • DO-178B/C
  • DO-254
  • Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineering teams and lead technical organizations.
