Job description
We are looking to fill immediate openings for Level I and Level II Wiring Technicians. Team members will support our clients and projects in the Greater Chicago and Surrounding Suburban Area (we also service IN, and WI, based on your location). Wiring Technician’s daily tasks will include, but may not be limited to: Working in support of network wiring projects for Ethernet networks including wired and wireless networks; Running CAT6, CAT5, and RG-6 cable in open and closed ceilings, walls, crawlspaces, etc; Terminating RJ-45, terminating CAT6 and CAT5 patch cables to patch panels and keystones, testing this cabling. Organizing patch cables and detailed wire management will also be required. The ability to make custom length patch cables and organizing and label all wiring will also be necessary.
IT/Networking/Consultant Experience: *Create, change, and delete user accounts per request *Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of software and hardware *Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot computer systems, mobile devices, and networks *Support local and remote users, devices, and applications with Splashtop (as needed) *Software updates, and other configurations as required *Troubleshoot basic networking related issues
The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and organizational skills. To excel in these daily activities, Networking/Cabling Tech/Consultant would use the following skills (not all of these are required, but highly desirable), You’ll enjoy variety in several areas of responsibility, including:
New hire setup which includes working in Active Directory to create new users, setting up new users in our VOIP phone system (RingCentral) and RMS (Splashtop) setting up new computers. Perform client/user support for the company and for individual users as they encounter problems including: hardware services, software installations; updates; troubleshooting, networking support, phone system support, contacting our vendors, from internet providers to printer service technicians. Troubleshoot network issues as they arise. Provide user training on technology and new technology implementation, (i.e. phone headsets, researching different Document Management Systems, planning and executing site-wide installation of the new programs) Learn and become responsible for management for all user accounts (i.e. activate/deactivate all employees and manage their systems) and all client management Maintain current IT equipment running through software updates, stocking of printer paper and toner, ordering of supplies, and inventory management on current stock. *BS degree in Information Technology or related field, or in lieu of degree, a combination of equivalent education and work experience *Must have reliable transportation/vehicle - driver’s license required *1+ years of Active Directory experience *Strong knowledge of Windows Desktop Operating Systems (7, 10) and Microsoft Office Suites *Strong knowledge of Windows Server *Knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN, and basic VoIP concepts *Exceptional customer service, communication, problem-solving and analytical skills *Ability to work well with employees at all levels *Experience working in a fast-paced environment *Employee must be able to use a computer and phone to conduct business. This includes the ability to use hands, talk, see, and hear. Required ability to push, physically handle, lift and carry objects up to approximately 50 lbs *Able to read drawings and follow instructions for low voltage wiring; including RG6, Cat5e/6e, and speaker wire. *Ability to use a smartphone app for task assignments. *Good oral and written skills and ability to interact with clients. *Time-management, critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to work unsupervised a must. *Must have your own basic set of IT tools, (Laptop, Crimpers, Punch Down, Electrical Snips, Wire Stripper, drills, and basic tools).
FUNCTION 2: IT HELPDESK/FIELD CONSULTANT - Onsite and Remote Job Summary: We are looking for someone who is available part-time or full-time basis. This position requires a creative self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as a member of a team, with sound written and verbal communication skills and a solid foundation of technology experience. The IT Team is responsible for the management of the company’s technology needs, which include local user and desktop support, on-premise network support, and some server level support. The person in this role will actively assist with company IT maintenance, support, and new technology implementation.
The ideal candidate is one who has completed college-level schooling in technology with a bachelor’s degree preferred and has relevant work experience. A minimum of 2+ years of IT Support/Help Desk experience. Some experience with system/network administration responsibilities is a plus. Also, must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and work at a fast pace, being responsive to user needs., Prefer 2+ years prior relevant work experience Microsoft Active Directory (Creating, Modifying, Terminating Users) Office 365 Administration (Creating, Modifying, Deleting Users, adding licenses, etc.) Adding/Removing Computers from Domain Google Apps (G-Suite) Administration (Creating, Modifying, Deleting Users, Apps, etc.) RMS Tool Experience (Splashtop, LogMeIn, TeamViewer, etc.) Install/Remove Software on Computers Support for Helpdesk Tickets Setup and Support Remote Users TCP/IP Knowledge CompTIA Server+ Network+/Microsoft Server Certifications a Plus Functional knowledge of remote access, VOIP phones, networking, PC configuration, Proven high level of problem-solving, critical thinking, and implementation skills Education and other Requirements:
Technology-focused education (4 yr. degree Highly Preferred) Great customer services skills to interact with users Successful “think-out-of-the-box” attitude Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment with adaptability to change Strong attention to detail Outgoing with solid communication skills for help desk responsibilities. Certifications (Preferred)
CompTIA Server+ CompTIA Network+, * You must have your own reliable transportation daily to each client location
- You must own the necessary tools to complete whatever task you are assigned. You will not be reimbursed for tools (i.e. laptop, drill, ethernet tester, etc.)

- High school or equivalent (Required)
