Job description
- Work closely with EMR/EHR vendors to troubleshoot issues, coordinate upgrades, and implement new features and enhancements.
- Gather feedback from physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to improve workflows and system functionality.
- Participate in future EMR/EHR planning, system integrations, and application development initiatives.
- Coordinate testing, validation, and deployment of new application features and updates.
- Assist with user training and provide ongoing application support.
IT Operations
- Work with IT support to deploy desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and other end-user devices.
- Troubleshoot hardware issue.
Patient Care Technology
- Assist with deployment, support, and maintenance of patient care applications and clinical technology.
- Coordinate installation and configuration of devices used in patient care environments.
- Ensure clinical systems remain available and operational with minimal downtime.
- Work with vendors and healthcare staff to resolve application and device issues quickly.
Compliance & Security
- Follow HIPAA and healthcare cybersecurity best practices.
- Maintain proper documentation of systems, procedures, and changes for audit.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning for clinical applications.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience supporting healthcare applications environments.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare applications.
- Experience installingcdesktop computers and end-user devices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clinical staff and software vendors.
Preferred
- Experience supporting multiple EMR/EHR platforms.
- Experience working directly with EMR vendors on application enhancements and integrations.
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 or FHIR.
- Familiarity with virtualization, server environments, and cloud-based healthcare applications
