Job description

ANTICIPATED OPENING - Long term substitute Mental Health Treatment Specialsist for the Partial Hospitalization program. Position beginning with the start of the 2026-2027 School year, duation to be determined.

To provide direct, intense treatment that will focus on helping clients learn to respond to their daily environment in a practical and productive manner. Emphasis will be placed on client’s current needs, functions, and support systems, as they relate to mental health treatment and educational needs., Treatment Planning and Preparation.

To demonstrate knowledge of content, client, and resources.

To select treatment goals and assess outcomes.

To create a respectful environment and establish a therapeutic culture.

To manage therapeutic procedures and client behaviors in an organized, safe, and nurturing environment.

Direct Therapeutic Services

To communicate clearly and accurately to family and client.

To use therapeutic, flexible strategies that engage clients and provide feedback.

Profession Responsibilities

To follow the Intermediate Unit 20’s policies and procedures and best practice of his/her profession.

To show professionalism and growth within his/her profession.

To maintain a professional relationship with families, community, and colleagues.

To perform other duties, as directed by the Level IV Treatment Coordinator and/or the Level III Supervisor of Clinical Support.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in a recognized related Mental Health Clinical Discipline. Professional license beneficial. Flexible hours may be required, based on individualized client needs.

Must have the ability to be trained and utilize TACT-2 methods of behavior assessment and apply restraint when necessary.

Must have basic computer skills to utilize both CIU-20 computer-based and web-based programs .

About the company

If you are recommended as a finalist for a position, you will be required to have a pre-employment medical examination - physical and tuberculosis (TB) test. All results (physical and TB) must be recorded on the School Personnel Health Record. No other forms are acceptable. The physical and TB are at your own expense. If the physical is performed by a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, the Physician must also sign; the TB test may be done by a physician or licensed health care provider. All areas of the physical and TB test must be completed, signed, and properly dated.

Physical and TB results within the last three months of receipt will be accepted if they are recorded on the School Personnel Health Record. Dates of results longer than three months of our receipt will not be accepted.

Selected candidates for IU20 positions will be required to produce state mandated background clearances and fraud checks as part of the employment onboarding process. All recommendations for hire shall be contingent upon receipt of acceptable clearances and fraud checks. The clearances and checks will be treated confidentially.
