Job description

PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Engineer I, IT Salesforce DevOps at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this job is to support Salesforce release management, CI/CD automation, and platform observability. This role focuses on production deployments, environment migrations, deployment automation, and enabling Salesforce development teams through standardized DevOps practices. The role also supports enterprise automation initiatives, including Java and MuleSoft applications, and works closely with onshore and offshore development teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and compliant releases., Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   • Execute and manage Salesforce production deployments and environment migrations.
  • Support Salesforce development teams with CI/CD pipelines, branching strategies, and release governance.
  • Automate manual and repetitive processes to improve deployment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Define, implement, and maintain observability, monitoring, and deployment dashboards using Dynatrace for Salesforce and integrated platforms.
  • Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Salesforce DevOps tools (AutoRabit preferred) and enterprise tooling.
  • Implement CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, TeamCity, and related tools.
  • Support deployment automation for Mobile, MuleSoft and Java applications.
  • Ensure compliance with change management, audit, and operational controls.
  • Work closely with onshore and offshore development teams, coordinating release activities, deployment schedules, and CI/CD support across time zones.
  • Communicate release status, risks, and improvements clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Promote continuous improvement in release management and operational readiness.

Requirements

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator - Required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Salesforce DevOps, Release Management, or CI/CD.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce DevOps practices, Salesforce architecture, Governor Limits, and security scanning.
  • Good understanding of Salesforce releases and platform upgrades.
  • Hands-on experience using VS Code, Git, Apex Data Loader, and code review processes.
  • Strong experience with GitHub, including branching strategies, pull requests, and GitHub Actions.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipeline tools such as TeamCity, artifact management tools (e.g., JFrog), and deployment automation.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Linux, and server automation.
  • Very strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working with or coordinating offshore development teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce CI/CD tools (AutoRabit preferred).
  • Prior Salesforce development experience (to better enable DevOps and release support).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Experience developing automation workflows using open-source tools.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise systems (high availability, high transaction volume).
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby, etc.).
  • Experience or working knowledge of Dynatrace.
  • Familiarity with Java and MuleSoft application deployments.
  • Experience using A.I. tools preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will not supervise employees.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is required.

The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $

69,000 .00 - $

122,137.00 This position is eligible for an organizational performance based annual bonus, subject to board discretion and approval. This position is eligible for an individual performance based annual bonus.
