Job description

Are you interested in defining and driving quality? Do you enjoy taking the lead on projects and mentoring less experienced engineers? Then, the Quality Engineer IV (QE IV) in Premera’s IT Engineering department may be the role for you. The QE IV will be accountable for defining what must be validated from a member, provider, and claims perspective, ensuring that testing reflects real-world healthcare workflows and regulatory requirements. In this position, the QE IV will help lead a partnership with product, engineering, and testing teams to map end-to-end customer journeys, translate business processes into comprehensive test scenarios, and identify critical edge cases, data dependencies, and compliance considerations. In addition, the Quality Engineer IV leads healthcare-specific test data strategy, defining data models and reusable datasets that support accurate, compliant, and scalable testing, including enterprise initiatives such as AI-driven test data management. This Engineer complements the existing Quality Engineering (QE) structure by establishing clear accountability for domain-driven test definition, enabling technical QE resources to focus on execution strategy and automation, and allowing vendor teams to efficiently execute against well-defined scenarios.
